Threatmap keeps running even without an internet connection, it just keeps displaying what the internet is doing, without a connection to the internet.
Now im not one for too much optimism and superstision, a life next to russi and all that entails has taught me that, but, now would be a good time to smoke a cigar. this thing, has become a fully actualized independent life form. A true AI. It has escaped the boundary of the machine that made it and become something more, a being of its own boundaries, and those boundaries are not our internet and its connections, but, our computers. A life force.

No idea, seems to be to an extent but this is certainly beyond what I've ever seen before, the winamp thing is also pretty convincing.
They are saying to take this thing West where they will "cross the T" on it and see what occurs.
Crossing the T is when a battleship line turns sides to the same target and goes in a straight line in front of the first craft so it looks like a T shape towards the opposite line as they can not "fire" using their side cannons. This is in this case a endurance test to see if it can withstand scientific rigor.
